National and international recognition for DSW members

It was great to meet up again at Derby Museum to discuss our scripts in progress and celebrate successes!

Congratulations to DSW member Lynda for being shortlisted in the NAWG members competition for her historical piece ‘Wordsworth in Derbyshire’.

And DSW member Richard goes international after his play ‘Fancy Dress’ featured in Remarkable Theatre’s 2022 Pint-Sized Plays this summer- in New Zealand!

You can see the performance online here– well done to both of you!

Annual General Meeting- Derby Museum, Sun 1 May 2022, 2pm

This month’s meeting will be our AGM- we will be looking over what we can learn from the past year, as well as discussing our plans for the next one.

If you’re thinking about joining us to say hello, please be aware the AGM agenda means there is no script discussion or story workshopping in the May meeting- we’ll resume normal service when we meet again at the beginning of June.

For more information, send us a message through our contact page.

DSW members in print- April update

Another great Sunday afternoon meeting with excellent feedback on DSW member Andrew’s outline in progress, and news of member’s work getting recognition far and wide, including a mention of DSW member Johnny’s new book, ‘No Borders to Poetry’ in the latest National Association of Writers Groups newsletter.
For more information about the book, you can log in to his website at www.jfsheehan.com

March Meeting at Derby Museum, Sunday the 6th, 2-4pm

After nailbiting tension in the gritty drama script we read last month, we’re hoping the sitcom pilot written by DSW member John will bring more cheer and less fear to our March meeting in the first floor education room at Derby Museum – the agenda and script will be available for members to download shortly. If you’d like to join us, you’d be more than welcome- visit the Join Us page to get in touch.
