After the snow of December, we\’re back for a new year of critiques and script discussion – our January meeting is in Derby Library meeting rooms on The Strand on Tuesday 4th at 7pm.
No snow, just lots of feedback – if you\’d like to join us, send email us: joinus@derbyshirescriptwriters.com and we\’ll send you an agenda.
Snow and circumstance are against us this month, so we\’ve decided to cancel this December\’s meeting at Derby Library – looking forward to a less snowy New Year.
Been distracted onto other things this week, so I haven\’t had chance to open Anny\’s script until now – looking forward to reading it and critting it this weekend.
Derbyshire Scriptwriters crit a script written by one of the members most months – it\’s good feedback for the writer, and a good reminder for the critter (never called myself a critter before- first time for everything…) about what\’s important for your story, and how it all needs to work together to reach a satisfying conclusion.
For the writer, the collective crit is a good barometer of what\’s working and what needs work on a script – so we all learn something in the process- if you\’d like to see how it all works, we\’ll be meeting up on Tuesday the 2nd of November at the reading rooms in Derby – or email us: joinus@derbyshirescriptwriters.co.uk
Looking forward to the crit session of Emma\’s feature script – if you\’re interested in coming along, drop us an email- derbyshirescriptwriters@virginmedia.com
We\’ll be looking at Di\’s script Star Search tonight, hope to see you there!
Time to shake the sand out of your typewriters and word processors and put on your critique jumper and scarf – Summer break\’s over, and Derbyshire Scriptwriters will be meeting up again at Derby Library\’s meeting room on the Strand at 7pm, Tuesday 7th September – see you there!
Just a quick note to thank the DSW members who were at the crit session for my short screenplay last night – lots of positives, lots of things to think over and rewrite, and a challenge I didn\’t expect…
This is what it\’s all about – sharing your work with other writers to help you make it better – brilliant stuff.
Have a great summer, and see you in September!
It\’s our last meeting before the summer break and we\’ll be critting Andy\’s short film screenplay \’Sweet Dreams\’ – if you\’re a member, the script is already in the members section of DerbyshireScriptwriters.com.
If you\’re interested in coming along, drop us an email:
joinus@derbyshirescriptwriters.com
or call in and see us on Tuesday at Derby Library\’s meeting room on The Strand – see how to get there on this post.
